FOOTBALL CENTRE SPRING 5s

Spring 5s are the new club based 5aside kids competitions at The Football Centre.

Spring 5s has been organised in collaboration with local clubs so that:

  • Playing groups can continue to play together under their clubs banner throughout the close season

  • There is a consistent level of team quality which is often lacking in close season tournaments

  • Players are able to develop match intensity through competitive small sided games

(small sided games lead to more touches and faster decision making)

The Spring 5s comps will be played across multiple ages groups with games aligned to the current 2022 Football West season:

Competitions will run in the following time slots:

AGE GROUP                        DAY                             GAME TIMES BETWEEN

U7                                            Saturday                  9am-11am

MASTERS (O35s)            Sunday                      4pm-7pm

Spring 5s games will start during the week of October 10 and continue until the week of December 12. Following a break for Christmas/New Year the competitions will resume the week of January 9, with finals in early February.

While club coaches are welcome, game day coordinators will be onsite to facilitate "equal game time" substitutions / goalkeeper rotations etc. where required. This will allow parents to self-organise teams if needed giving their coach a well earned break after a long season!

Some clubs may choose to run training sessions in parallel to the competition - but that is that their own discretion

In the run up to the start of the competitions, The Football Centre will organise games days  to introduce any teams unable to fill all spots, with individual players hoping to play Spring 5s, but who are not associated with the partner clubs.
